Alison's love of electronic dance music was sparked after her first trip to Candy's Apartment. The DJ was playing Silent Shout by the Knife. She walked over to the Dj and asked about the track. Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2, 1985) is an American actor. She was nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes in her role of Molly Solverson on the FX show Fargo's debut season. Tolman was raised in the city of New York and has two older and one younger siblings. Early in her life, her family relocated to England. They remained there until she was four years old. After five years of living in Oklahoma, she moved to Sugar Land. She started taking acting classes at the age of 10 old in the Fort Bend Community Theatre. Clements High School is where she attended and she graduated in 2000. Baylor University awarded her a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in theatre performance. After college, she moved to Dallas in the United States, where she was among the first members of Second Thought Theatre. After 2009, Tolman relocated from Chicago, Illinois, to take classes in performance at The Second City Training Center. Tolman began her career in Fargo, a black-comedy crime drama that airs on FX. Fargo is a re-imagining of the 1996 Coen brother's film of the same name. Starring the veteran cast of Bob Odenkirk, Martin Freeman as well as Billy Bob Thornton. Tolman won praise for her performance as Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman, "calmly" and "assuredly", stole the show. Tolman received the Critics' Choice Television Award for her performance in the category Best Supporting Actress, Films/Miniseries. Also, her nominations for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes. Tolman also had a role on The Mindy Show as Abby Berman a romance writer. In 2015, her second role was in Michael Dougherty's film horror comedy Krampus. After her breakthrough role on Fargo, Tolman declined several part-time roles, including mothers or wives as well as best friends in search of a more unusual role. Tolman appeared in the ABC drama series Downward Dog in 2017, Based on the Animal Media Group's website series. It was cancelled after one season. Tolman was a star in the drama show Emergence which debuted on September 24, 2019. The show was canceled on May 21, 2020 after only one season, despite "pretty strong" numbers, as per Tolman.
